Visible Body makes interactive 3D anatomy apps for students, teachers and health professionals; its best-known product is Human Anatomy Atlas, a dissectible male and female 3D body for phones, tablets and computers. For dentistry it matters because of an optional 3D Dental Anatomy add-on for the Atlas, which adds dental model sets with tooth surfaces, cusps and fossae. Study tooth morphology with the dental add-on

1. Buy and open Human Anatomy Atlas, then add the 3D Dental Anatomy in-app purchase.
2. Open a dental model set and select a tooth.
3. Use the info box to go through its surfaces, cusps and fossae, and rotate the tooth to check each surface in turn.

Revise head and neck muscles for exams

1. Load the skull and the muscles of the head in the Atlas.
2. Select the masseter or temporalis and read the action, attachments, innervation and blood supply.
3. Hide superficial layers or switch to a cross-section to see deeper structures, then take a 3D dissection quiz on the region.

Make a short chairside or classroom explanation

1. Build a view of the jaw and teeth, add tags and notes, and save it as a presentation.
2. Show it on an iPad or projector. The Atlas also sells a separate Patient Education Animations in-app purchase.

Install and first run

• iPhone and iPad: install Human Anatomy Atlas 2027 from the App Store; iOS 15 or later.
• Mac: the Mac App Store listing is named 3D Human Anatomy Atlas 2027 and needs macOS 12 or later. Store purchases are per platform, so buying on iPhone does not automatically give you the Mac version.
• Android and Windows: install from Google Play or the Microsoft Store.
• VB Suite: nothing to install for the web version – sign in at the Suite web address with your VB Suite account; for mobile, install the Visible Body Suite app and sign in with the same account.
